Ex MK Dons man goes from WAGS to washes

Why would someone want to leave the glamorous world of football and replace their career with Window Cleaning? Swapping brushing shoulders with the rich and famous, to brushing windows for the masses? Simon Dodson, former Commercial Manager at MK Dons, has done just that!

Having enjoyed a successful career in football, Simon was itching for a new challenge, with the lure of “being your own boss” tempting him to look at what options were open. So, how did he settle on window cleaning? It all started as a joke between Simon and his partner, Julie, which quite quickly turned into a reality, and that reality that is now Concept Window Cleaning.

Not one to do things by halves, Simon equipped himself with not a squeegee and rag, but a state of the art water-fed pole system, which enables his team to reach almost any window that can’t be accessed by ladders, and up to a height of 60ft! Not only does this system benefit customers from reaching all of their windows, it is safe for the operator too, with no more ladder falls! Utilizing “Pure Water” to cleanse not only glass, but surrounding frames and sills, this system really takes window cleaning to another level, enabling what Simon describes as a premiership finish.

Simon comments: “If you had said to me a year or so ago, that I would be working outdoors, in all weathers, running a successful window cleaning company, I would have thought you were mad.

“We work in both the domestic and commercial sectors, so are adept to work with a variety of scenarios, not only cleaning windows, but fascias, soffits, signage…pretty much anything we are asked!”
