Cygnus ramps up expertise

Integrated agency Cygnus Associates has strengthened its automotive and FMCG knowledge and experience through the appointment of two new account directors; Gianna DiGiorgio and David Coleman. The pair joined the Milton Keynes agency this month.Cygnus

David joins from McCann where he led the Vauxhall brand and retail teams while also directing the TGI Fridays account. He oversaw delivery of Vauxhall’s pre-2014 World Cup TV advert featuring the England football team as part of the brand’s ongoing sponsorship of the home nations. His automotive cross-channel acumen will be pivotal at Cygnus in directing the Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle account, while his other work in finance, charity and retail – specifically developing the MyWaitrose loyalty programme – will be crucial in delivering other Cygnus projects.

Gianna is highly accomplished in brand planning, new product development, trade and consumer brand education and engagement strategy. She has directed many FMCG and premium spirit brands through research, strategic analysis and development, creative, design and implementation across various activation platforms. She brings with her experience working with GSK, Beiersdorf, Coca Cola Enterprises, General Mills, Pepsi Co, Sainsbury’s, Heineken, Rémy Cointreau, Diageo, Beam Global, Morgans and Fairmont Hotel Groups.

Gianna joins Cygnus from Contagious (formerly Boutique Creative), where she worked extensively with Bacardi Global Brands on global brand education and trade engagement strategy for Bacardí rum, Grey Goose vodka, D’Ussé cognac and Bombay Sapphire gin. Her FMCG experience will be vital in directing Cygnus key accounts like BP, Nestlé, Alpro and Cereal Partners and developing new business.

“Since we relocated to Milton Keynes just over a year ago, business has expanded both locally and nationally,” says Marc Brown managing director of Cygnus Associates. “David and Gianna’s multi-channel experience and sector expertise, as well as their strong account direction skills, will ensure we continue to creatively and strategically support our clients and deliver effective campaigns to strengthen their brands.”
