Woodfines Solicitors held a charity fundraising event at Girton College on Thursday 12th May to raise funds for the Cambridge Fund for the Prevention of Disease (CAMPOD).
Performing to over 100 guests from both the Cambridge business community was the highly acclaimed all male acapella group Out of the Blue, fresh from their recent success on national television’s Britain’s Got Talent.
Commenting on the event Woodfines Partner, Chris Wingfield said:
“This was a really great evening, with a terrific atmosphere and everyone enjoyed themselves. The evening raised over £1,700 for CAMPOD and we are most grateful to Out of the Blue for helping to ensure the success of the event.”
CAMPOD is a charity that raises money to support medical research in the Department of Pathology at the University of Cambridge. CAMPOD supports its pathologists’ studies into illness and disease which could potentially save millions of lives.

Out of the Blue, which is made up of Oxford University students, has been named European champions of a cappella three times, came second in the ICCAs on two occasions, toured the USA, had sell-out runs at Edinburgh Fringe and has produced twelve CDs.
Dave Brennan, group leader of Out of the Blue, commented: “We are really happy to have helped Woodfines by performing at their charity evening. It did help us raise our game knowing we would be performing at the home of our friendly university rivals.”
