New Sainsbury Local to open at Willen Local Centre

Willen Local Centre, developed by Newcrest Willen Ltd, will welcome a new Sainsbury’s store next year creating 20-25 full and part-time jobs.

Robin Ockendon, Sainsbury’s acquisitions manager said: “We hope to open our Sainsbury’s Local in Willen in early 2015. Our Locals provide a top up service of everyday items needed by people living or working in close proximity to the store.

“This store will trade from 7am-11pm and will have a strong emphasis on fresh fruit and vegetables, as well providing an in-store bakery, dairy products, snacks and other convenience products.

“Our convenience stores make a positive difference to the communities in which they operate, for example they can help to add to the vitality of the local area by boosting footfall and provide a foundation for existing businesses to grow and new ones to flourish.

“We always seek to employ from the local community and expect this new shop to create approximately 20-25 new full and part-time jobs opportunities for local people, who will benefit from a variety of training and skills programmes to continue their personal development.

“We are also committed to playing an active part in the community. Each year our customers and colleagues vote for their store’s Local Charity which the team then supports throughout the year, creating strong community links.”
