Clean room specialist selects MK for southern base

BES, a UK market leader in the design, construction and validation of specialist facilities for the pharmaceutical, medical and life sciences sectors, has chosen Milton Keynes as the location for its new Southern Region HQ.

Based in Rochdale, Lancashire, BES works with world-leading companies in the pharmaceutical, life sciences and healthcare sectors, including AstraZeneca, GSK and the NHS.

The company’s expertise in designing facilities that meet the complex architectural and engineering standards required to achieve strict compliance criteria is matched by its track record in delivering turnkey construction and fit out projects. This pedigree has created high demand for BES’ services in the biotech ‘golden triangle’ of Oxford, Cambridge and the Thames Valley, prompting the company to invest in a new HQ in the South and extend its team in the region.

Explains managing director of BES, Steve Marsh: “The biotech clusters, knowledge quarters and science-based businesses in the South have very specific built environment requirements that demand a joined up approach from a design and delivery specialist. Creating a Southern HQ provides us with the infrastructure to respond to these customers quickly and offer the on-the-ground support they need when investing in new or re-purposed facilities.

“With its close proximity to the biosciences hot spots of Oxford, Cambridge and London, superb transport links and fantastic amenities, Milton Keynes was the ideal choice of location and we’re delighted to be making it our new home.”

Southern regional director, Gavin Statham will head up the new Milton Keynes office, along with a highly-skilled team of specialists from all disciplines. The company will also be actively recruiting from the local area to support further growth.

Gavin says: “At BES we’re renowned for our client-focused approach and this new base in Milton Keynes will enable us to work even more closely with our clients in the South to understand their requirements and ensure that we provide a service that meets both their process and commercial needs.

“Our team in the South will be supported by our experts from all disciplines ensuring that our customers across the UK can rely on a consistent service and quality standards across every project.”
