Milton Keynes MPs Iain Stewart and Mark Lancaster joined Network Rail today to kick off a year-long recruitment campaign to fill hundreds of new roles at the company’s new national centre. More than 3,000 people will be based at the landmark building when it opens next summer. The Wayside Group opened a new BMW & Mini dealership in Milton Keynes on March 8th. The new development, at the junction of Childs Way and Northfield Drive, features a 16 new car showroom for BMW, together with a used car facility displaying over 100 cars inside and out. The Mini showroom extends to present 10 new Minis, with 38 used vehicles on display outside. There is also a 21 bay workshop...

Tesco distribution centre to close
Plans to close Tesco’s Fenny Lock distribution centre could put hundreds of jobs at risk, a union has warned. The supermarket is closing its site and transferring the work to a new centre in Daventry, Northamptonshire. All the existing 764 staff will be offered the chance to work at the new centre, said Tesco. But union Usdaw described the announcement as “devastating” for those...

Business travel grants of up to £1k offered
Businesses with 5 to 250 employees in Milton Keynes are being offered a new grant of up to £1,000 to assist them in reducing the cost of business travel.    These are match-funded grants available from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and accessible through Business Link. Milton Keynes Council is working as a partner on the programme and will be conducting free staff travel surveys...

Bradville taxi firm launches online booking service
Skyline Taxis of Bradville, who operate a fleet of over 300 vehicles, have launched a new online booking service. Bookings can be made with as little as 30 minutes notice, with customers receiving email confirmation. As many large companies have several departments using Skyline, the new system allows account holders to book securely online, quoting the relevant purchase order number (or department)...
